Sayres Defense is seeking a Security/Access Control/Administrative Assistant (Receptionist) at the company headquarters in Washington, DC. The position is in one of Washington DC's most exciting, growing, and developing areas, just outside the Navy Yard, close to the Washington National's baseball park. The economic development of the site provides for a high quality of work/life balance with many vibrant restaurants and green spaces along the river.

This position is in office Monday thru Friday 7am to 4pm and not eligible for telework.

Work Location: Sayres and Associates, LLC, 55 M Street, SE, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20003.

The Security/Access Control/Administrative Assistant (Receptionist) will assist with the administration of the daily office operations, to include standard receptionist duties, access control, word processing, scheduling, conference/event/appointment coordination, management and maintenance of Corporate wireless devices, office supply maintenance, and equipment maintenance. Working hours are 7am to 4pm, Monday thru Friday. There may be occasions to extend working hours.

Specific responsibilities include:



  • Access control to include management of badges and preparation of Long Term Visitor Access Forms.
  • Conference room, meeting, and event support. Management of facility calendars and conference lines.
  • Answer corporate telephone and transfer or respond to calls as necessary.
  • Manage Wireless Devices: inventory, ordering, setting devices up and issuing, and maintenance.
  • Manage internal and external mailing and shipping. FedEx bill reconciliation.
  • Monitor, organize, and re-stock office supplies.
  • Respond to equipment maintenance.
  • Provide word processing, data entry, and miscellaneous graphic support.
  • Provide administrative assistance to the PMS 300/325 program.

Software/Systems/Programs Experience:



  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.


Work Experience:



  • Minimum of 2 year of experience in an administrative role, or commensurate experience.


Education:



  • Minimum of an Associate Degree.


Preferred:



  • Familiarity with Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Design.
  • Familiarity with National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM).


  • Familiarity with Defense Information System for Security (DISS).
  • Familiarity with Navy/Government officials and terminology.
  • Prior experience working within the federal contracting industry.
  • Able to obtain a SECRET security clearance or interim SECRET clearance issued by DSS within 60 days of start of employment with Sayres.
  • Must be able to hold a SECRET clearance for duration of employment in this position.
  • Certified as a Notary Public.


Other Requirements:



  • Must be able to physically lift 25 lbs to transport and store office supplies and paper products.
  • Need to frequently move about inside and outside the office, with the ability to work in a fast-paced and multi-tasking environment in order to provide visitor access from the building's lobby reception area and to collect and distribute mail.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


No long distance or local travel required.

Salary:



  • The salary for this position is likely $30,000 - $50,000. Salary ranges are not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary; rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
