ABOUT THE JOB

The Tepa Companies are seeking a Civil Engineer Intern, you will work with Tepa's Engineering Business Unit and be responsible for entry-level design, data analysis, and CAD software design. You will gain insight into working with the Federal Government, Tribal entities, local municipalities, and various commercial/industrial companies. Our typical work products are engineering plans, specifications, cost estimates, and technical reports. Specific types of Civil projects include Transportation/Traffic (roads, pedestrian walkways, traffic modeling), Site (grading, utilities, development), and Stormwater (sewer and storm sewer). This work will expand upon your current knowledge and skills and will assist you in gaining expertise in hands-on engineering design.

The Tepa Companies 2025 Intern Program is a paid opportunity for the duration of 10-12 weeks. Depending on your workload and school schedule, the work schedule will be approximately 40 hours per week in the office location.

Job Functions:

  • Partnering and collaborating with Senior Engineers to solve real-world challenges for our customers.
  • Assisting with prepping project deliverables including but not limited to engineered drawings, technical reports, project-related correspondence, and miscellaneous project documentation.
  • Assisting the team with developing processes and procedures to improve project execution efficiency.
  • Working in a team atmosphere to provide technical and project support for different projects.
  • Assisting in the design effort to ensure project is designed in accordance with published standards, budget, and schedule.
  • Coordinating communication between both internal and external members of the project.
  • Assisting with estimating effort for projects and creating proposals.
  • Assisting in the maintenance of all official project documentation and logs.
  • Assisting with planning, scheduling, and engineering functions.
  • Performing additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Enrolled in a 2-year or 4-year program related to Engineering, Computer Aided Drafting and Design, or Similar
  • Coursework using Civil 3D, MicroStation, BIM360, SolidWorks or another CAD software
  • Familiarity with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Good creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with minimal supervision
