THE OPPORTUNITY The Global Trade Compliance Analyst is responsible for ensuring the legal international trade of software and goods in compliance with applicable government laws and regulations, with an emphasis on export regulations and sanctions compliance in the US. This position will be an individual contributor role and will have primary responsibility for conducting denied party screening and sales order processing support. Interface & Collaboration: This role will report directly to the Sr. Director Global Trade Export in Boston, MA. To be successful, a candidate must be able to work well within the existing Global Trade Compliance Team as well as cross-departmentally in order to achieve effective integration of trade compliance policies and procedures into other departmental workflows and policies. The candidate is expected to professionally and respectfully interact with and influence across all levels of employees within the Company. Responsibilities:
- Act as primary person responsible for determination and maintenance of product classifications and relevant databases, and recordkeeping.
- Ensure that the company's activities within the Americas are compliant with domestic and international export controls, embargoes and sanctions requirements, and import/customs.
- Accurately evaluate export transactions for export authorization requirements; apply and obtain appropriate export authorizations as required.
- Support the Trade Team with maintenance and improvement of trade compliance program, procedures, and other compliance initiatives.
- Support day-to-day trade compliance procedures to ensure compliance with all applicable trade compliance laws and regulations for international transactions into, out of, or within the Americas region.
- Serve as a company expert on US export regulations, embargoes and sanctions laws, and import/customs regulations.
- Conduct self-testing and audits of the company's Americas operations with respect to trade compliance activity.
- Analyze and interpret government regulations, policy and requirements for compliance as they relate to export control laws and regulations, embargoes and sanctions from applicable countries within the Americas region.
- Conduct training on trade compliance regulations and applicable company policies and procedures to company employees and contractors.
- Provide consultation to Americas-based business units, subsidiaries, and business function leadership on issues affecting the business, and resolve matters in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Oversee and provide day-to-day guidance to company personnel on compliance related matters, including but not limited to; export control/dual-use classification, US/CA export license applications and usage, government reporting, HTS classification, customs valuation, country of origin determination, etc.
- Consult with company Trade Compliance Leadership, Compliance Counsel, and outside counsel as needed to resolve difficult legal compliance issues.

Your Background Required Qualifications (must have)
- Strong research skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills, excellent problem analysis and solving skills, and ability to quickly see upstream/downstream impact and risk points.
- Experience learning to navigate new software platforms.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize, with excellent time management skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information frequently and appropriately.
- Capable of working independently in support of team objectives and working collaboratively both within the global trade compliance team as well as cross departmental/functional.
- High school diploma.
Desired characteristics (ideal, but not a must)
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience with U.S. Export Controls required
- 1+ years of global trade compliance experience, including 1+ years of software classification experience with understanding of cryptography classifications.
- Knowledge of and experience reviewing US Export Administration Regulations (EAR), International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), sanctions compliance and related government reporting requirements.
- Experience with SalesForce order processing.
- Excellent report writing and presentation skills (the ability to present trade compliance concepts in a technical environment and to persons at all levels).
