Tibetan Educational Exchange Associate - Remote possible (Staff Wage)

The University of Virginia's Tibet Center is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Tibetan Educational Exchange Associate to support our initiatives focused on academic exchanges related to entrepreneurship and social innovation between Asia and the United States. This role involves facilitating the exchange of knowledge and experiences between Tibetan and American entrepreneurs, managing logistical aspects of these exchanges, and producing comprehensive reports for grant purposes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Technical Report Writing:

• Prepare and submit highly technical reports every three months for various grants, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and adherence to grant requirements.

2. Visitor Support:

• Manage and support Tibetan visitors during their month-long stays in Charlottesville, including transportation, daily assistance, and addressing any immediate needs.
• Coordinate and oversee their activities, ensuring a smooth and productive visit.

3. Program Coordination:

• Develop and maintain relationships with local business professionals, educators, and other stakeholders to facilitate the exchange programs.
• Organize and arrange logistics for Tibetan visitors, including accommodation, local transportation, and scheduling of meetings or events.

4. Preparation for American Delegations:

• Assist in selecting and preparing American participants for visits to Asia, including coordinating travel arrangements, scheduling, and pre-trip training.
• Support American delegations during their time in Asia, ensuring they effectively engage with Tibetan entrepreneurs and participate in workshops.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree
• 2 years of experience. Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

No knowledge of Tibetan issues is required; however, experience with entrepreneurship, social innovation, or community engagement is helpful, as is experience with grant report preparation and writing.

Additional Information:

This position can work in-person in Charlottesville or remotely within the United States.
