JOB PURPOSE/SUMMARY:
The primary duty of the cadet/intern is to train and observe towing and other marine operations in a work study environment with a focus on leadership and management from the shoreside perspective. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Cadets/Interns will observe the day to day shoreside management relating to the regions tug, towing, and barge operations. Including crewing, governmental and state regulatory safety compliance standards, budget development & management, casualty investigations, vessel repair, coordination of vessel schedules and operations, and developing KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS: Possess a current Transportation Workers Identification Card (TWIC). Must be currently an active student with a maritime institution or academy.
