Qualifications:



  • Strong background and experience in hockey
  • High School graduate
  • Junior or College hockey playing experience preferred
  • Knowledge of skating fundamentals, basic stick handling, and shooting techniques
  • BLS certification


Job Responsibilities:



  • Observes and adjusts potential problems with each athlete's skating mechanics along with shooting and stick handling ability
  • Identifies and builds relationships with local market groups to promote SMAP programs
  • Builds and maintains professional relationships with athletes
  • Educates athletes by targeting their specific training needs
  • Recruits, trains, and oversees hockey athletes
  • Measure pre- and post-program assessments
  • Ensures scheduling and maintenance of equipment and cleanliness of the hockey training area/facility
  • Coordinates with OMC staff to ensure a strong service line and team approach
  • Enjoys teaching youth; and the ability and confidence to train young beginner athletes as well as advanced athletes
  • Other duties as assigned
