Elwyn Adult Behavioral Health Services is hiring a Vocational Rehab Specialist to provide psychiatric rehabilitation, vocational development and individual counseling in a therapeutic setting assisting mentally ill adult consumers achieve sound, economic, emotional and personal independence.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:



  • Prepares vocational assessments which are accurate, timely, and descriptive of consumers vocational potential.
  • Develops treatment plans which:

    • Clearly describe vocational barriers
    • State vocational goals
    • Measure vocational objectives and,
    • Describe treatment conditions


  • Makes clinically sound observations and provides vital clinical information in case management conferences and treatment planning sessions.
  • Develops and maintains clinically sound and therapeutically valid relationships with consumers.
  • Provides employment-related services in community-based settings in which the effect of the consumer's mental illness on employment will be assessed and develops an ongoing employment rehabilitation plan to enable the consumer to get and keep a job.
  • Performs individualized initial and ongoing assessment, including a thorough work and academic history and on-site work assessments in community-based jobs.
  • Identifies behaviors that interfere with the consumer's work performance and develops interventions to alleviate the problem behaviors.
  • Provides/facilitates work-related supportive services, such as assistance with grooming and personal hygiene, securing appropriate clothing, wake-up calls, transportation, crisis intervention, and on-the-job support.
  • Develops and maintains accurate and up-to-date consumer employment files. Offers suggestions and solutions regarding vocational problems and treatment planning. Clinical documentation clearly reflects client assessment, the goals of treatment and progress toward those goals.



QUALIFICATIONS, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:



  • Master's Degree in rehabilitation counseling or related field.
  • For M. A. candidates, at least one year of supervised experience providing individualized job development and supported employment on behalf of consumers with physical or mental disabilities. .
  • Demonstrated strong time management and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to anticipate future needed changes or identify problem areas and take effective actions
  • Must possess excellent customer interaction, collaboration, presentation, and written and verbal communication
  • Must have current, valid driver's license in state of residence, three (3) years driving experience in the United States, and acceptable driving record
