Commercial Loan Operations Specialist

What You'll Do:

This position is responsible for managing commercial loan processing requests, and uses extensive knowledge of commercial loan products, loan documents, as well as regulatory compliance. The Commercial Loan Operations Specialist maintains a solid working knowledge of commercial loan policy and procedures. Provide a high level of customer service to internal team members and external commercial borrowers.

Essential Functions:

Credit

  • Maintains and adheres to LGE Community Credit Union Loan Policy and Procedure
  • Notifies Commercial Loan Officers of pending items needed to process file according to established policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines
  • High quality Service
  • Pulls credit reports, flood certifications and orders title work from attorneys
  • Prepare loan documents for closings timely and make sure loan packages are complete prior to loan closings

Loan Operations

  • Reviews loan documents to ensure all necessary signatures are present and all documents have been returned, complete a loan documentation checklist and book the loan to the Core system
  • Books closed loans to the Core system
  • Reviews the Core system for accuracy and completes a checklist (does not check loans they booked personally, all loan specialist check back for each other)
  • Posts payments, draws, and principal reductions
  • Processes loan payoffs
  • Participation loan processing
  • SBA loan processing
  • Daily Loan General Ledger Balancing as assigned
  • Performs approved maintenance to the loan record
  • Monitors loans for accurate coding and servicing
  • Process paid loans and cancel any necessary recorded documentation

Collateral Management

  • Process signed documents for recording in a timely manner
  • Prepare loan packages for Imaging
  • Ensures all documentation is properly imaged and stored correctly in the Synergy Imaging system
  • Monitor and clear loan tracking and exceptions
  • Maintain an orderly and secure loan file

Additional Duties/Responsibilities

  • May be asked to backup other positions in the department
  • May be asked to be a part of various committees within the bank
  • Maintain a reasonable knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act and Anti-Money Laundering Polices and regulatory requirements that are specific to this position
  • Knowledge of Lending Compliance
  • Post and submit the 1502 SBA report monthly. Work with Alterdomus on any SBA loan related issues or processes
  • Assist with training new employees on loan processing
  • Update and or assist in any changes in the LaserPro Admin platform
  • Update and or assist in any admin changes in the SilverLake LNPAR when needed
  • Assist in core issues such as maintenance, billing corrections and research
  • Back up for Real Estate, Flood Zone property tracking and Adverse Action review
  • Review daily reports in Synergy
  • Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to other GCB, A Division of LGE locations to meet with lenders and/or transport timely documentation as needs arise
  • Maintain familiarity with and follow all policies, procedures and processes which have been established in order to meet compliance requirements of all applicable federal regulations. The regulations include but are not limited to the Privacy Act, Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Reg CC and Patriot Act

Who you are:

  • Required: High school diploma
  • Required: 3+ years Commercial Loan processing and operations experience within a Credit Union or Financial Institution
  • Required: 3+ years experience with required commercial loan documentation and regulations
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organizational and time management skills required; ability to multi-task
  • Strong judgmental & problem-solving skills required
  • Must possess strong phone etiquette, computer and typing skills
  • Promote and maintain positive team relationships
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
