POSITION PURPOSE AND SUMMARY
The Instructional Designer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing instructional materials and programs that support our organization's learning and development objectives. This individual will create content with a variety of training solutions (i.e., eLearning courses, ILT, webinars, mobile, on-the-job training, job aids, and blended learning solutions) that are meaningful and measureable. The Instructional Designer will collaborate with subject matter experts, Learning and Development leaders, and other stakeholders to create high-quality, engaging, and innovative training solutions that meet the needs of our diverse learner population.
MAJOR / KEY JOB DUTIES
Needs Analysis and Collaboration
* Conduct thorough needs assessments to identify learning gaps and determine appropriate instructional strategies. * Work with SMEs and business stakeholders to articulate a baseline understanding of business objectives, the skills required to perform those jobs, and the extent to which those skills are absent or in need of development. Curriculum Development * Develop comprehensive curriculum plans, including effective learning objectives, content outlines, and assessment strategies. * Identify what kind of learning experiences and interventions need to be designed to meet the instructional objectives. * Assess business constraints, audience characteristics, technical environment, budget, and other factors to determine the right media, technologies, and methods to deliver the learning (e.g., eLearning, ILT, video, microlearning, and job aids, etc.) Instructional Design and Content Development * Organize objectives, content, learning strategies, and delivery media into an appropriate instructional sequence. * Create engaging and interactive instructional materials, such as e-learning courses, workshops, and job aids. * Develop and curate high-quality content, including text, visuals, and multimedia elements. * Utilize instructional technologies and tools to enhance learning experiences. * Create and manage a library of re-usable content assets. Training Evaluation and Reusability * Design and implement evaluation methods to measure the effectiveness of training programs. * Remain current with operational changes and developments in learning methodology/technology to continuously improve/update training programs and materials. * Review and revise training programs on a recurring cadence. * Leverage the content library across projects and improve efficiencies throughout the development process. Project Management * Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to quality standards. * Act as lead designer and project manager responsible for executing the end-to-end analysis, design, and development process for individual projects (including implementation of course updates based on pilot/TTT observation). * Review and approve deliverables produced by SMEs and vendors. * Report to Director, Learning Content Design on project status and issues, innovative breakthroughs, etc. OTHER DUTIES

ENVIRONMENTAL JOB REQUIREMENTS
* Must be able to stand and sit for long periods of time.
* Must be able to perform all duties in a virtual environment using various methods (e.g. video conferencing, phone, email, computer). * Must be able to travel up to 25% for meetings with vendors, team members, and/or business necessities. * Must be able to travel via all methods of transportation as required (car, train, plane).= MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
* Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design or equivalent experience.
* Proven experience as an Instructional Designer or related role. * Proficiency in instructional technology tools and platforms. * Proficiency with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Power Point, Share Point, Teams, Word). * Proficiency with learning authoring tools (Articulate 360, Camtasia). * Experience with Learning Management Systems. * Experience delivering learning experiences leveraging diverse platforms (teams, zoom, ring, in-person, mobile). * Experience with creating diverse learning curricula at an Enterprise level (role based, leadership development, corporate, franchise, systems etc.). |
