The USC School of Cinematic Arts is seeking an open-rank adjunct faculty member in the field of talent management for the entertainment industry. We arelooking for a working professional with a primary positionas an agent or manager with extensive experience at an agency and/or management company to teach CNTV 522: The Television Industry: Networks, Cable, and The Internet. This course explores the the current state of the television industry and future business paradigms. This course will cover a comprehensive look into the television industry, including the conception, development, and selling of an idea, as well as how networks, cable companies, internet, and mobile platforms operate.

Qualified applicants will have 10+ years of agency, management, and/or television production experience and be able to teach students at the graduate level about the industry. Television producing and/or executive-level experience is also strongly encouraged. Candidates will be well-versed in the landscape of the entertainment industry post-COVID as it relates to talent representation, television production, contracts, and deal-making. Ideal candidates will have familiarity with a broad talent base, offering insight on various industries including theatrical, television, and music.Knowledge of digital platforms, streaming services, and social media as it relates to talent representation is essential.

Candidates will be required to call upon contacts with backgrounds in entertainment as it relates to talent representation to foster a unique learning experience and to support lecture topics and the discussion of current events related to the entertainment industry. Prior teaching and/or guest lecturer experience at the university level is preferred.

USC reserves the "Adjunct" appointment for faculty teaching less than full-time at USC, who are employed full-time in a primary profession or career elsewhere. Adjunct faculty typically teach only one course per year but, in exceptional cases, may teach one course per semester, if approved by the dean.

Compensation: The coresalaryrangefor this position is $30 - $45 per hour. This is an adjunct 25% FTE position.

Minimum Education:Bachelor's degree.

Preferred Education: Master's degree, or equivalent experience. Demonstrated teaching experience, ideally at the university level, but inclusive of professional and community seminars, workshops, and mentorships.

Minimum Experience: 7-9 years of experience as an agent or manager at a talent agency or management company.

Preferred Experience: 10+ years of experience as an agent and/or manager. Demonstrated teaching experience.
