Role Description:

In the role of Manager, Platform Engineering, you will be part of a dynamic team that lives by Safety National's core values: Relationships, Integrity, Teamwork, Balance, and Stability. You will work closely with Our Director, Infrastructure of Engineering and our CTO to build our Platform Engineering team. Your contributions of driving efficient, scalable, and secure software development will be felt throughout Safety National.

Your day-to-day responsibilities as a Manager, Platform Engineering will include working closely with Engineering, Security, and Product teams. Your contributions will help shape our internal platform, empowering development teams to innovate faster with secure and scalable infrastructure. We are seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead and build our Platform Engineering Team, responsible for creating and maintaining a robust internal platform that empower development teams by simplifying infrastructure, enabling automation, and integrating security throughout the software development lifecycle.

As the Manager, Platform Engineering, you will contribute to the design of strategy, architecture, and processes that ensure our internal platform enables self-service for developers while maintaining high standards of performance, security, and reliability.

The ideal candidate will have deep technical experience in cloud platforms, DevSecOps, practices, and observability tools, along with a proven track record of building and mentoring high-performing platform engineering teams. Some of the essential skills required of you in this role are, extensive hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, infrastructure as code (Asure Resource Manager, Terraform), and cloud security best practices. Having strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications:

Education:



  • A Bachelor's degree preferred


Required Qualifications:



  • Minimum of 6 years of working experience in I.S. or related field
  • Possess five or more approved certifications with job area.
  • Proven Experience in DevSecOps, observability, cloud infrastructure, with a focus on Azure services.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Azure Pipelines, infrastructure as code (Azure Resource Manager, Terraform), and cloud security best practices.
  • Strong technical understanding of DevSecOps practices, including containerization (Docker, Kubernetes on Azure), continuous integration, and security integration within Azure environments.
  • Proficient in industry-standard observability tools such as Azure Monitor, Solarwinds, Grafana, AppDynamics, and OpenTelemetry. Proven experience in designing and scaling observability solutions to deliver deep performance, reliability, and security insights across cloud-native and hybrid environments.
  • In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Azure, including networking, identity management, and scalable infrastructure design.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.


Preferred Qualifications:



  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and distributed tracing tools
  • Experience designing and scaling observability solutions across cloud-native environments

Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
