Your Role on the Team Position Summary: Under the direction of the Radiation Safety Officer (RSO), the Health Physicist is responsible for assisting with the development, management, implementation, and oversight of the day-to-day operations of the on-going medical and research radiation protection programs at multiple UCI Health locations. This includes. development and implementation of radiological safety policy and procedures, assuring compliance with all state and federal regulations concerning the use of radioactive materials and radiation-producing machines, assisting with the administration of the UCI Health radioactive material license, clinical and laboratory monitoring and control, radiological security, emergency planning and response, and technical support for departments using radioactive materials. The Health Physicist provides expert-level radiation safety support for radiation safety staff, general and specific radiation safety training, and responds to radiological events.
