As part of Detection and Measurement, CUES is the world's leading developer of water, wastewater, and storm water inspection equipment. With CCTV cameras, pre-built vehicles, and software for pipeline inspection and rehabilitation, we improve the safety and reliability of our water infrastructure systems.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:



  1. Technical Expertise and Tool Proficiency:



  • Ability to accurately interpret assembly drawings and follow detailed instructions.
  • Skilled in hand soldering both thru-hole and surface mount components.
  • Proficient in the use of crimping tools for contacts as small as 1mm.
  • Competent in the safe and efficient use of standard hand tools, including screwdrivers, wrenches, ratchets, hammers, crimpers, and knives.
  • Capable of safely operating power tools such as hand drills, bench drills, engraving machines, and bench presses.




  1. Materials and Process Knowledge:



  • Knowledgeable in the proper application and identification of various adhesives, including Loctite, epoxies, and lubricants.
  • Able to follow precise procedures in handling materials to ensure safety and quality standards.
  • Proficient in the correct usage of tools and materials, ensuring high-quality workmanship.



3. Work Standards:



  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail.
  • Motivated to consistently meet and exceed the highest production standards.
  • Committed to maintaining a clean, efficient, and safe work environment.



What we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)

We each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:

Required Experience



  • Must be able to grip and operate hand tools with a maximum of 50 in/lbs of force
  • Must be able to grip fine contacts and wires with one hand and operate crimping tool with the other hand
  • Must be able to see fine components and have manual dexterity to properly place and solder these components.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 30 lbs for at least 15 feet.
  • Self-motivated with critical attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast paced, high-performance environment
  • Must be able work independently and as part of a team



Preferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities



  • IPC soldering certifications desired
  • Experience in a production environment
  • 1-2 years similar manufacturing experience with good references



Education & Certifications



  • High School Diploma or equivalent requirement


Travel & Working Environment



  • 6AM - 2:30PM Monday - Friday overtime required depending on manufacturing needs
  • Possible switch to 4, 10 hours day weekly schedule after introductory period
  • Exposure to flash or strobe lights
  • Prolonged sitting or standing for up to 10 hours
  • Safety Glasses and Shoes must be worn at all times when in the Production areas.

    • Additional PPE may be required depending on the safety requirements of the job.
