Job Summary
Employees at this level interview applicants for and recipients of student financial aid. They work under general supervision from a designated supervisor.
Job Description
1. Provide excellent customer service to those seeking financial aid information
2. Analyzes ISIRs to assist in explaining financial aid eligibility and unsatisfied requirements
3. Ability to clearly communicate financial aid eligibility and next steps
4. Ability to explain additional documents needed from students and provide guidance in completing the documents
5. Review completed documents for accuracy and determination of eligibility
6. Direct students in using the student portal to review and accept financial aid eligibility
7. Direct students to Department of Education websites specific to the student's eligibility
8. Proper review and maintenance of student files to identify student eligibility for aid
9. Assist in answering questions regarding dependency overrides, UEH status, federal verification, verification of IL residency, etc.
9. Performs other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
1. high school graduation or equivalent
2. (A) two years of general office experience
or
(B) an Associate degree
or
two years of college course work
or
(D) any combination of education and office experience totaling two years
3. one year of experience in handling student employment, loans, and/or scholarship programs in addition to the education/experience listed in requirement 2 above
