Shift: 12 hour night shift (7pm - 7am), 2-2-3 schedule

The Mounter/Proofer position reports directly to the Pre-Press Manager.

What you will be doing:

  • Operates a mounter/proofer machine to mount plates according to company and customer specifications.
  • Maintains assigned work area in a clean orderly fashion that meets AIB/HACCP/5S programs, laws, and regulations.
  • Complete all required New Hire Safety and Food Safety Training.
  • Mount plates according to job orders

  • Checks artwork, samples, and/or spec. sheet.
  • Checks the printing plates to be sure you have the correct plates for that particular job and the correct number of plates.
  • Adheres to and work in compliance with all Federal, state, local and company policies and regulations related to Environmental Health and Safety requirements.
  • Notifies the Pre-Press Manager if there are questions or problems with the order or plates.
  • The mounter verifies adequate adaptors are available to mount job.
  • Makes determinations with regard to quality and accuracy of work where accuracy is critical and errors would be costly and result in lost production, materials, revenue, and customer good will.
  • Checks that all adaptors are clean before using them.
  • Responsible for safety in the mounting, and awareness of standard operating procedures.
  • On completion of job, rechecks all measurements for accuracy.
  • Fills out and signs QA sheet verifying mount job is correct.
  • Reports any mechanical problems with the proofer to the Pre-Press Manager.
  • Maintains total awareness of company policies, regulations.
  • Ensures that all material in this area conforms to all regulatory programs, and laws.
  • Performs other duties as directed or requested by Pre-Press Manager.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • Requires a thorough knowledge of company proofing procedures and quality standards.
  • Requires some technical knowledge of printing presses, bag machines, colors, film types and properties, printing plates is required.
  • Familiarity with artwork would also be beneficial.
  • Requires the ability to read and interpret work orders, proofs, spec. sheets, and artwork.
  • Requires an operating knowledge of his/her proofing machine plus knowledge of other proofing machines.
  • Knowledge of how plates are stored and how to prepare them for proofing.
  • Occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
