We are currently seeking a Post-Doctoral Research Associate to work in the Charles L. Brown Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the School of Engineering and Applied Science, University of Virginia. We are seeking a qualified candidate with expertise in the research and development of GaAs diode fabrication, silicon micromachining, heterogeneous integration technologies, terahertz nonlinear circuit design, and submillimeter-wave metrology. QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics or a related field is required by the start date. Candidates having experiencewith contact photolithography, reactive ion etching, magnetron sputtering, reactive sputtering, metal plating, wafer bonding, scanning electron microscopy and wafer dicing and related fabricationprocesses will be preferred. The post-doctoral researcher will be working on both the development of heterogeneous GaAs-Si integration and micromachined on-wafer probe technology. The candidate should have expertise in the fundamentals of millimeter and submillimeter-wave circuit design and implementation, including experience with Ansoft's High Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and Agilent's Advanced Design System (ADS) software tools. Must be able to work in a team environment, lead new research initiatives, and meet project goal deadlines.
