Food/Product Safety Site Leader II

Job Summary

The Food/Product Safety Site Leader II enforces and monitors the compliance of established food safety and quality procedures to comply with regulatory, customer, and internal requirements. Ensure products are received, stored, handled, and shipped following established standards. Lead and manage internal and external customer audits.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead plant HAACP/GMP program and ISO quality system through internal audits, document control, and driving continuous improvement.
  • Manage the site's microbiological environmental control program.
  • Coordinate and own the site's pest control program.
  • Enforce personal hygiene practices and all food safety programs. Train new hires on food safety regulations, policies, and standards.
  • Support QMS improvement initiatives in the South Brunswick organizaiton.
  • Maintain site SOPs and ETQ (in QMS).
  • Lead FSSC/customer audits.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in life sciences preferred, Bachelor's degree required.
  • Minimum three years' experience in a food, chemical, or manufacturing environment with a minimum of two years of experience in quality control or quality assurance functions.
  • Food and microbiology knowledge is preferred.
  • Knowledge of common microbiological requirements for food, manufacturing, and chemistry is required.
  • Maintaining site SOPs and ETQ (in QMS).
  • PCQI, HACCP certification, GMP, and FSSC knowledge preferred.
  • Knowledge of kosher and halal requirements is preferred.
  • Basic statistical skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence teams and resolve conflicts in support of organizational goals.
  • Interpersonal skills, demonstrated ability to work effectively, professionally, and respectfully in a team-based environment to involve peers, customers, line management, and technical competency experts.
