Currently Brown and Caldwell has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Architect to join our Architectural team. The successful candidate will work on various projects for municipal, industrial, and federal clients. The candidate will work with structural, mechanical, process and electrical engineers, and designers on projects for facilities primarily serving the water and wastewater industries. Project work includes: conceptualizing and implementing architectural designs; directing architectural Revit/CAD model creation and drawing production efforts; developing architectural standard details and specifications; and engaging in multi-disciplinary coordination. The successful candidate will enjoy working in a collaborative, multi-discipline environment to develop innovative, cost effective designs for new facilities, expansions, upgrades and retrofits.

Detailed Description



  • Perform various aspects of architectural design, including conceptual design studies, development of program requirements, schematic design, design development and construction documents
  • Develop architectural design concepts and present them to clients and internal design teams
  • Perform code studies and life safety reviews for new buildings and retrofits to existing facilities
  • Ability to conceptualize and represent initial design ideas using 3D software
  • Initiate architectural models using Revit/CAD for projects and the production team.
  • Conduct research on building materials and building codes nationally.
  • Ability to work productively and cooperatively in a team environment.
  • Must be outgoing, confident, and team-oriented with strong written and communication skills.
  • Ability to coordinate and execute Navisworks model walkthroughs.
  • Develop and maintain architectural project files and standard details.
  • Provide technical mentoring and coaching to junior staff
  • Assist with construction administration.


Desired Skills:



  • A four-year degree (BS in Architecture) or five-year degree (BA in Architecture) from an accredited school of architecture.
  • Registered Architect
  • 8 - 12 years' experience preferred
  • Proficiency in REVIT, AutoCAD Architecture, Navisworks, and Sketchup/Formit.
  • Knowledge of construction documents, with an understanding of construction technology, sustainable design and building systems.
  • Knowledge of building codes and national standards.
  • Passion for design excellence, collaboration and willingness to learn.
  • Knowledge and experience using PowerPoint and Photoshop
  • Experience with architectural modeling, detailing and drawing production.
  • EED and Envision credentials or willingness to obtain such credentials are desired.


Salary Range:Theanticipatedstarting payrange for this position is based on the employee's primary work location and maybemore or lessdependingupon skills, experience,and education. These ranges may be modified in the future.

Location A: $103,000 - $141,000
Location B: $114,000 - $155,000
Location C: $124,000 - $169,000
