Description
Summary / Position Purpose: The Payroll Specialist will work closely with our Payroll Manager on oversite of multi-state payroll processes, beginning to end, for the company. These processes include, but are not limited to, calculating payable hours, commissions, bonuses, tax withholdings, and deductions. This role also includes preparing and issuing earnings statements, issuing paychecks, issuing W2's, payroll tax confirmation, and managing direct deposits. Essential Duties, Functions and/or Responsibilities:
- Assist in the run of Payroll/Employee Data Reports as requested by management; validate data integrity before release
- Review and monitor payroll input from responsible site management to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Responsive to employee inquiries via phone and monitoring of Payroll@TestEquity.com
- Assist the Payroll Manager with the setup, maintenance, and creation of file digital payroll related documents in HRIS (Paycom) system
- Assist with processing of written requests for Verification of Employment (VOE)
- Ensure compliance with payroll regulations/laws of every state in which we operate
- Ensure compliance with federal payroll regulations/laws
- Communicate with third-party payroll vendors/representatives along with the Payroll Manager
- Assist the HR Business Partner and Payroll Manager on HR related activities and event coordination
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
- High school diploma/GED required
- Degree in business administration, finance, or accounting preferred
- 2+ years of experience working in a payroll office preferred
- 2+ years of Payroll experience required
- Compensation experience preferred but not required
- Bilingual in Spanish is required
- Attentive to details and a good problem solver
- Working knowledge of relevant legal regulations
- Good interpersonal skills
- Proficient in MS Office: Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Publisher and payroll software, preferably Paycom
- Intermediate level in Microsoft Excel is required
