Heavy Civil Mechanical Lead

We are seeking a motivated individual who is eager to learn, work on unique projects, and travel with our company. If you have a background in heavy civil trades and an eye for mechanical work, we want to hear from you! We are looking to train the right individual to become a Mechanical Lead. A background in industrial plumbing, millwright, or boilermaker experience is a plus!

Our Work: We specialize in and are passionate about water resources. We self-perform heavy civil construction work where we may board a barge to get to the jobsite, fly materials on top dams to replace and install large gates and bulkheads on dams and water control structures, demo/place concrete, and more. This position would start out working in Texas, Arkansas, Illinois or Missouri with additional long-term work opportunities in the Pacific Northwest and Western regions.

Responsibilities:



  • Collaborates with project teams to tackle mechanical challenges on heavy civil projects.
  • Reads, identifies, and understands blueprints related to metal structures and moving machinery. IE: hoists, gates, pumps, and bulkheads
  • Install and align mechanical machinery.
  • Understands working and installing equipment and structures with tight tolerances, often times within .003"
  • Experience installing miscellaneous metal structures.
  • Selects supports and tools to correctly complete job tasks.
  • Understands, or wants to understand, machine runout tolerances and how to meet the tolerance.
  • Experience working with all types of cranes and rigging certifications is a plus.
  • Uses theodolite, survey equipment, levels, and string line to correctly align and layout for equipment.
  • Understands proper use of saws and cutting torches, welding experience is a plus.
  • Work closely with engineers and electricians to start up and test motors and machinery.
  • Reviews and executes work plans to correctly and safely install large steel structures and machinery.
  • Able to look at issues and come up with solutions
  • Operates hand and power tools.
  • Set equipment and structures at correct elevations, plumb and level.
  • Ability to work with other trades.
  • Maintains awareness of safety rules and procedures.
  • Identifies safety hazards and reports to project supervisors.
  • Performs additional assignments at supervisor's direction.
  • Regular, predictable attendance is required.
  • Ability to get along and work effectively with others.


Qualifications:



  • Strong desire to learn and develop expertise in the mechanical industry.
  • Willingness to travel and work in various remote locations.
  • Thrives in hands-on environments and is excited about working on heavy civil projects often times in a marine environment.
