YOUR DAY TO DAY:

The Manufacturing Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing the entire manufacturing process of our Radome Operations to ensure efficient production, quality control, and on-time delivery. This position will directly manage the cost, performance, delivery, and quality of the product line. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, technical proficiency, and experience in managing production operations in line with organizational goals.

YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR:



  • Product Line Management: Directs the manufacturing of a product line to meet Division objectives, ensuring smooth operations and cost-effectiveness.
  • Process Optimization: Develops and implements strategies to streamline manufacturing processes, maximizing efficiency and productivity.
  • Workflow and Production Schedules: Monitors production schedules, adjusting workflows as needed to meet deadlines and customer demands.
  • Resource Planning: Establishes and meets short- and long-term manufacturing requirements for space, facilities, equipment, and manpower.
  • Operational Planning: Prepares annual operating and long-range plans; coordinates materials, manufacturing engineering, production, and testing.
  • New Product Development: Participates in identifying future market opportunities and creates new product development plans.
  • Cost and Inventory Management: Oversees accurate preparation of forecasts, master schedules, and manufacturing labor cost estimates used in pricing and contract bidding.
  • Budget and Expense Control: Reviews, consolidates, and manages department budgets to ensure effective expense control.
  • Maintenance and Safety: Assumes responsibility for equipment maintenance, housekeeping, and safety, ensuring compliance with EH&S standards and formal training of employees.
  • Team Leadership: Manages personnel, including hiring, performance reviews, salary actions, and development. Ensures compliance with the company's Affirmative Action Plan.
  • Problem Solving and Conflict Resolution: Assists supervisors in resolving production issues and ensures actions are reported and addressed at a managerial level.


YOU ARE THE RIGHT PERSON FOR THIS JOB IF YOU HAVE:



  • Technical Proficiency: Solid experience with ERP systems, production automation, project tracking tools, and budget management software.
  • Creative Problem-Solving: Anticipates challenges and devises effective, innovative solutions.
  • Product Knowledge: Strong understanding of product development, lifecycle management, and market trends.
  • Leadership: Strong leadership skills, including motivation, communication, conflict resolution, and employee development.
  • Problem-Solving: Excellent ability to solve complex issues and manage day-to-day challenges in production.


Education and Experience:



  • Degree: B.S. in a related technical field with at least 8 years of experience in manufacturing or technical manufacturing management, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Advanced Training: Advanced management training preferred.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in MS Project, Excel, Word.
  • Lean Manufacturing/Six Sigma: Experience with lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or other process improvement methodologies.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel up to 15%.
