DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Fiscal Assistant, you will perform a variety of both bookkeeping and clerical work supporting our department, our staff, and the children we serve. Work will include preparing check list for payment, which includes review of all bills for accuracy, development of a spreadsheet, entering payment amounts for days of care, coding with County ID number, and notifying staff of time frames to submit expenses. You will have the opportunity to contact vendors in regards to disputes or for clarification, and mail checks to providers and vendors to generate payment. Additional duties to include but not limited to:
- Tracking revenues and maintaining/providing support documentation to the county and agency
- Maintenance of spreadsheets on children in placement
- Maintaining of IV-E adoption files and IV-E placement files
- Setting up savings accounts for children
- Maintaining a spreadsheet for expenditures for children in placements
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment
- Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
- Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Two years of experience performing bookkeeping or clerical accounting work; or
- An associate degree in accounting or business administration including or supplemented by 6 credits in accounting; or
- Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
- Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within 3 months of graduating with a qualifying degree/credit.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy may be given to candidates who live within Susquehanna County. If no eligible candidates who live within Susquehanna County apply for this position, candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
Legal Requirements:
- You must pass a background investigation.
- This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law.
- Under the Law, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports including, but not limited to, PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI Fingerprint clearance.
