Responsibilities

Virginia Beach Psychiatric Center (a UHS Facility) is a 100 bed acute care, inpatient psychiatric facility for adults in Virginia Beach, VA. VBPC offers specialty mental health treatment for older adults, chronically mentally ill, and substance abuse/detox programming. VBPC is a state of the art building located in the beautiful Virginia Beach area, just minutes from the ocean.

Job Summary:

The Patient Advocate investigates, resolves, documents, and reports organization-specific patient and/or visitor complaints, allegations, and concerns to the CEO and Risk Manager within 24 hours of receiving them. The Patient Advocate develops, implements, and participates in training, customer service and patient relations initiatives related to the facility's mission and goals.

Must be able to work weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in psychology, counseling, social work, human services or related field.
  • One or more years of direct or related mental health counseling experience, preferably mental health crisis counseling experience.

Shift Details: 12:30 pm - 9:00 pm Every other weekend, one weekday/week
