The University Relations Manager, Collier County is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive strategy to expand FGCU's engagement and presence in Collier County. Based at The Kapnick Center, the position builds relationships with community leaders, external partners, and volunteers to further FGCU's mission. Coordinates events, manages community outreach, facilitates programs in collaboration with the FGCU Academy, and serves as a liaison to the Naples Botanical Gardens and FGCU Kapnick Center. Recruits potential volunteers and Collier County Town & Gown members, represents the university at local events as needed, and ensures compliance with university regulations.

Job Description Typical duties may include but are not limited to:
- Develops and implements short and long-term goals to increase FGCU's engagement in Collier County, including the use of the FGCU Kapnick Center.
- Represents FGCU to campus and community partners, pursuing outreach efforts and building relationships with external partners to benefit the university.
- Develop, manage and execute special events, lecture series, or other community opportunities for engagement at the FGCU Kapnick Center.
- Manages scheduling and event coordination for the FGCU Kapnick Center, in collaboration with Campus Reservations, University Events, and FGCU Academy.
- Assists FGCU Academy with identifying potential instructors and communities for program development and support Academy events at the Kapnick Center.
- Recruits Collier County members for Town & Gown and designs strategies to engage and funnel volunteers into the donor pipeline through various outreach tactics, including lectures, special events, and tours.
- Develops and manages a portfolio of high-value volunteers and stakeholders in Collier County, including community leaders and prospects for the development team.
- Represents FGCU at chamber, civic and/or club meetings, providing reports and follow-up on how organizations can support FGCU initiatives.
- Attends and facilitate Collier County guests at the President's Suite during FGCU Athletic games.
- Collaborates with University Relations team members and relevant academic units & departments across campus to create partnerships, maximize volunteer engagement, and update promotional materials for Collier County.
- Serves as the staff liaison between the FGCU Kapnick Center and the Naples Botanical Gardens.
- Ensures compliance with university, state, and federal regulations for all programs and events.
Other Duties:
- Serve as a phone backup to other areas within the department and building, filing/organizing office documents, greeting and routing any office visitors, ordering office supplies as needed, maintaining equipment/managing repair as required.
- Facilitate Kapnick Center event and meeting inquiries regarding FGCU.
- Manage the fiscal processes for University Relations (when specific to Collier County) including invoices, check requests, and reimbursements.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Additional Job Description Required Qualifications:
- This position requires either nine years of directly related full-time experience or, as an alternative, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and five years of full-time experience directly related to the job functions.
- Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience, and/or certifications may be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Event planning and/or volunteer management experience.
- Experience and proficiency with Raiser's Edge or similar software applications.
- Collier County residents preferred.

- Able to professionally and comfortably represent FGCU in public.
- Knowledge of Collier County community, including clubs, organizations and influencers.
- Skilled in public speaking and delivering presentations to individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated skill in planning, developing, and producing events and special projects with strong attention to detail when numerous demands are involved.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and complete simultaneous projects.
- Ability to work independently but collaboratively and build strategic relations with a various group of colleagues, donors, volunteers, and community members.
