Job Description: Summary: The person in this position will work with multidisciplinary project teams. This person must be experienced in civil engineering design and analysis related to site layout, grading and drainage, mass earthwork, etc. Work will involve technical assignments including design with CADD modeling software, preparation of construction plans and specifications, spreadsheet preparation, site development design, report writing, large-report preparation, construction cost estimating, construction observation, and facility inspection. This person will also perform a strategic leadership role. Administrative responsibilities such as business development, project management, and project planning and scheduling are also part of this strategic role. This person will serve as a mentor to junior and mid-level engineers to grow civil engineering expertise and project management skills by reviewing technical reports, providing guidance on operations-related tasks, and providing input to personal and professional growth. The work may require short-term, out-of-town work assignments. Minimum Qualifications:

A hybrid work arrangement may be considered for this position. A hybrid work arrangement refers to splitting time worked between a Barr office and a home office. This position is be based out of Barr's Hibbing, Minnesota, office. NOTE: Some work locations will feature the rough terrain typical of construction sites or require lifting or moving field testing equipment. Safety training will be provided prior to being given work assignments on these sites.
