Huntsman is seeking a I&E Technician supporting the Polyurethanes Division located in Houston Port, Texas. This position will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Job Scope

To perform complex preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs to electrical, instrumentation, DCS and other specialized equipment. Assist other maintenance crafts when needed.

In summary, as the I&E Technician, you will:

  • Perform complex predictive and preventative I&E maintenance functions involving electrical, instrumentation, DCS and other specialized equipment.
  • Perform complex trouble shooting and take appropriate action.
  • Make complex instrument and electrical repairs to equipment.
  • Determine root cause of equipment failures and determine corrective actions. Document details of repairs.
  • Ensures all new electrical, instrument, and DCS equipment projects are installed and commissioned properly as specified.
  • Create and maintain repair procedures and predictive / preventative procedures. Determine appropriate PM's and associated frequencies.
  • Order maintenance equipment parts and inventory.
  • Create purchase requisitions for maintenance equipment and supplies.
  • Essential functions require presence in the workplace on a regular basis and an ability to work extra hours if needed. If applicable, ability to work overtime may be needed to ensure required staffing capacity to meet daily production objectives.
  • Work collaboratively with team members with different backgrounds and perspectives.
  • Assists other employees in accomplishments of Huntsman company goals. Follows instructions and performs other duties as may be assigned by supervisor.
  • Participates in Environmental, Health, & Safety initiatives as set forth by the company. Participates in and completes company-required training programs.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

The candidate must have an unrestricted right to work for Huntsman in the United States.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent with 7+ years of experience in I&E.
  • Texas State Electrical License.

Skills and knowledge

  • Must have a level of proficiency with Internet, Email, and Microsoft programs
  • Proficient knowledge of I&E functions.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and P&ID sheets.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment repair and maintenance manuals.
  • Ability to determine improvements and corrective actions concerning equipment repair and to institutionalize in written documents.
  • Ability to create and update repair and maintain procedures.
  • Ability to read and understand safety rules.
  • Proficient knowledge of rotating instrument and electrical equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in Instrumentation.
  • Completion of technician's course related to areas of electrical & instrument crafts is preferred.
