Lumos is looking for a full-time Supervisor, Service Operations! Essential Functions



  • Candidates must reside within 30 mins of Greenville, Spartanburg, or Columbia, SC to allow a reasonable commuting distance site visits.
  • Provides direction and feedback and ensures assigned tasks are completed accurately and within specified deadlines.
  • Works with day to day fiduciary functions to ensure effective expense measures are in place.
  • Implements organizational effectiveness and operations management best practices.
  • Ensures operational efficiencies along with accountability and adherence to departmental policies and procedures for his/her team.
  • Establishes performance measures, goals, objectives, and priorities for his/her direct reports.
  • Evaluates employee work performance. Identifies and provides appropriate training and counseling where needed.
  • Demonstrates leadership and vision with people, major projects, and initiatives.
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills along with a collaborative management style.
  • Must be an excellent people manager open to direction and collaborative work styles and a commitment to get the job done
  • Evaluates and recommends changes and improvements to management regarding departmental policies, procedures, and issues to improve productivity and efficiencies.
  • Gathers and summarizes data to provide accurate information for reports and correspondences
  • Approaches others in a tactful manner; Reacts well under pressure; Treats others with respect; Accepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required



  • Language Skills - Ability to read, analyze and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to commons inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Mathematical Ability - Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportion to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Computer Skills - Accounting Software, Database Software, Human Resource Systems Human Resource Systems, Internet Software, Inventory Software, Order Processing Systems, Payroll Systems Project Management Software, Spreadsheet Software, Word Processing Software
  • Additional Skills and Proficiencies

    • Six to eight years of proven Supervisory experience
    • Six to eight years of Telephony industry experience
    • Experience with advanced GPON and Fiber based services and equipment
    • Ability to work long hours or irregular schedules to support customer expectations.
    • Experience with voice services and associated hardware
    • Experience with data communications and associated Hardware
    • Experience with video services and associated hardware
    • Knowledge and experience in organizational effectiveness and operations management implementing best practices.
    • Background and working experience in budget development and management




  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint,
  • Expert level



Other Experience & Requirements



  • Associate degree (AA) or Bachelor's Degree (BA) or six to eight years' experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience in related field.
  • Forklift Certification, Bucket truck Certification
  • Fiber or Telecom industry experience preferred.
