Overview

Job Purpose

Intercontinental Exchange, Inc. (ICE) presents a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology and business challenges in the financial sector. The ICE Network Engineer provides leadership in network design, deployment, maintenance, and 24x7 operational support. The successful candidate will be able to multitask in a dynamic team-based environment demonstrating strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities and the highest degree of professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Support/Maintain multiple multivendor production network environments
  • Assist ICE staff with problem solving and escalation procedures
  • Design, deploy, and maintain mixed vendor network infrastructure
  • Understand and follow operational policies/procedures and promote adherence to same
  • Provide technical knowledge needed to ensure safe, effective, and efficient changes to the network infrastructure
  • Assist with development of policies and procedures for maintaining network infrastructure
  • Collaborate and work closely with Systems, Infosec, and Datacenter engineering teams
  • Participation in 24/7 on-call rotation as needed

Knowledge and Experience

  • 5+ years of relevant experience including design, deployment, and support for large scale networks
  • Extensive knowledge of two or more network operating systems/platforms including JunOS, IOS/NX-OS, EOS
  • Extensive knowledge of Juniper MX/EX/QFX platforms
  • Extensive knowledge of Arista switches
  • Advanced MPLS expertise (RSVP, Traffic Engineering, LDP, L2VPN, L3VPN, MVPNs)
  • Expert TCP/IP, OSPF, and BGP routing skills
  • Expert packet capture analysis skills
  • Extensive knowledge of multicast design and troubleshooting including IGMP PIM and MSDP
  • Deep understanding of NAT, route maps/ACLs, routing policies, and IPSEC VPN
  • Ability to multitask and work independently on multiple projects
  • Ability to differentiate between a critical business impacting incident and a minor problem and resolve/escalate accordingly
  • Strong verbal and written communication and customer service skills
  • Some travel: 1-2 weeks per year, potentially international
  • B.S. in CS/IT or equivalent relative experience

Preferred

  • Experience working on financial/HFT networks
  • Juniper, Arista, Cisco, F5, Checkpoint, or Palo Alto advanced certification
  • Automation and scripting experience
  • Unix/Linux system administration

Schedule

This role offers work from home flexibility of one day per week.
