As the Environmental Competency Consultant, your goal is to support compliance and performance goals for the Pryor, OK site. This includes manufacturing units and a waste water treatment facility. You will manage risk while applying environmental standards for the site to maintain their license to operate. This role requires detailed knowledge environmental, health and safety regulations. You will support these facilities by providing interpretations on regulations, implementing requirements for improvement and compliance projects, and providing short term and long-term solutions to operational planned and unplanned events. In addition, this role implements compliance systems for federal and state regulations, and IFF requirements. You will report to the EHS Manager.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direction, support, and consultation to line management regarding environmental, health and safety (EHS) management.
- Support organizations commitment to zero occupational injuries, illnesses, or deviations.
- Understand, interpret, and communicate applicable environmental regulatory requirements and direction to site for implementation and development.
- Audit and assess site practices, programs, and management systems, and work with site leadership to develop a continuous improvement program for environmental.
- Participate in company EHS networks and second party audit programs.
- Provide resourcing and leadership to PSM team and element leaders.
- Actively participate and lead Investigations.
- Advance overall site EHS training by developing programs; conduct employee training and complete risk management assessments.
- Compile and submit reports internally and to various regulatory agencies, auditing, providing day to day guidance for site personnel on procedures and systems, providing training, and interpreting and ensure compliance with State and Federal laws.
- Learning the Waste Water Treatment Facility operations and provide guidance on best practices and improved operations
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Demonstrated functional/technical expertise of EPA regulations and management systems.
- Ability to collaborate, network and work cross-functionally with Operations, Technology/R&D, Maintenance, and Training organizations as well as with corporate functions.
- Ability to write and edit well (operating instructions, operating procedures, standards, etc.) is expected.

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Engineering, Chemical Engineer, Environmental Sciences or related discipline with a minimum of 2 years related environmental, health and safety work experience
- Alternatively, 5+ years of relevant environmental, health and safety work experience, including working knowledge of EPA systems
- Environmental experience in managing programs and regulatory requirements
- Experience in performing Environmental & Safety audits
- Trained in root cause analysis/why tree systems is a plus
- Lean Six Sigma trainingpreferred
