Job Summary:
With this posting, the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (https://www.engr.wisc.edu/department/nuclear-engineering-engineering-physics) is searching for a tenure track faculty member with expertise in nuclear engineering and engineering physics and AI/ML, as part of the RISE-AI Initiative. We would welcome a spectrum of expertise that focuses on developing and utilizing AI/ML algorithms in nuclear energy, including design, optimization and operation of nuclear energy systems. The successful candidate is expected to have a demonstrated academic record of developing, applying, and publishing AI/ML algorithms and/or tools relevant to system design and optimization. Responsibilities: Teaching and developing undergraduate and graduate courses; supervising graduate student research; developing and directing a strong funded research program; promoting an inclusive environment for learning and research; participating in departmental and university faculty governance; contributing to professional and public service and participating in interdisciplinary and collaborative efforts with other departments, schools and colleges.
