Job Summary: The Qualified Mental Health Professional (QMHP) provides Rehabilitative Services to children with
mental illness and to their families in the community utilizing a recovery based and trauma-informed perspective. QMHP's operate in a dynamic environment, develop extensive knowledge of community resources, collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, and cultivate a clinical skill set by forging therapeutic relationships with diverse community members. Interventions and services can be both office and community based and may require the use of a personal automobile.

QMHPs work in partnership with racially and culturally diverse individuals to define and facilitate their desired life outcomes. QMHPs participate in diagnostic evaluations and provide assessment of strengths, preferences, functional impairments and symptoms of psychiatric and/or co-occurring disorder(s) at regular intervals to ensure optimal and personalized services. QMHPs work with individuals in developing skills necessary to manage symptoms, they may also facilitate psychosocial rehabilitative skills training groups and/or utilize other evidence-based interventions or therapeutic modalities. Individuals served at this level may be assessed for crisis services as needed.

Although staff members in this position are not typically LPHA's, staff members in this position are working under the supervision of a LPHA who provides ongoing evaluation and oversight of all assessments, diagnoses and treatment.

Regular, predictable attendance is considered to be an essential requirement for this position. Other duties may be assigned. May require a flexible work schedule.

Education:

Required:


  • Graduated from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree, with a major specialization in Human/Behavioral/Social Services or related field. Master's degree preferred.

License:

Required:


  • Current and valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Experience:

  • Bilingual required.

Preferred:


  • Two years experience working with serious mental illness children and their families.

Hours: Full-Time.

Workhours: 8:00AM - 5:00PM.

Workdays: Monday - Friday.

Salary: $22.35 - $23.47 an hour based on education.
