Nordson MEDICAL designs, engineers and manufactures complex devices and components with applications in wound healing, surgical and minimally invasive, fluid management, pulmonology and interventional and structural heart. Our pioneering Advanced Polymers team was the first to manufacture and supply medical balloons to the medical device industry. Nordson MEDICAL works with doctors, start-ups and large medical companies around the world at any point in the product lifecycle, from concept to launch and beyond.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform timely and accurate calibrations per the calibration schedule.
  • Prioritize multiple tasks under tight deadlines.
  • Schedule calibration of equipment and coordinate downtime with users of the equipment.
  • Calibrate instruments to meet established conformance standards for force, pressure, temperature, time, etc.
  • Send out equipment/instruments for calibration and schedule in-house calibration with outside calibration suppliers.
  • Test instruments for accuracy and perform adjustments as necessary.
  • Investigate out of tolerance conditions and document results of investigation.
  • Train other calibration technicians.
  • Demonstrate good organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail including following good manufacturing practices.
  • Update and create calibration procedures.
  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the department.
  • Assist other calibration technicians as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements

  • High School diploma or higher or minimum 5 years of calibration experience.
  • Electronics experience desired.
  • Calibration Certificate desired.
  • Experience with or knowledge of ISO17025 desired.
  • Prior experience working in the medical field preferred.
  • Fluently read, write, and speak English.

Skills and Abilities

  • Write clearly and concisely to communicate technical knowledge.
  • Establish collaborative working relationships.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Able to act independently without significant oversite.
  • Metrology experience.
  • Possess a high degree of integrity.
