The opportunity

Southern New Hampshire University is seeking a Graduate Assistant, Athletic Communications. The Graduate Assistant, Athletic Communications will support the Athletic Communications team in producing live video streams of all athletic events, as well as handling all video-related needs, including feature pieces and video requests from external entities. Additionally, this position will support the Office of External Affairs and Communications (OEAC) where needed. The Athletic Communications team is responsible for the publicity and promotion of the Department of Athletics and Recreation, which includes 20 varsity sports, approximately 375 student-athletes, as well as coaches and administrators, with the ultimate goal of impacting the SNHU brand and fulfilling our mission of student success.

Essential duties and responsibilities of this position include the following:

  • Oversee all video production, both live and archived. Create a library of features, human interest stories, post-game highlights, features and live events

  • Serve as the primary Athletics Communications contact for webcasting of home athletic events

  • Serve as the main point of contact with FloSports and maintain minimum FloSports streaming standards

  • Identify, train and hire student workers to serve in all facets of webcasting, including production, camera people and play-by-play announcers/color analysts

  • Responsible for all video equipment, including inventory, maintenance, set up and break down

  • Responsible for archiving webcasts for later viewing by the public online

  • Responsible for entering webcast schedules into website of all home games to be webcast

  • Handle all video-related requests from external entities, such as the media, NCAA, NE10, professional teams, etc., in a timely manner

  • Assist in the production of the annual Year-End Videos

  • Design and create marketing pieces for select "focus" contests, including conference tournament and NCAA tournament games

  • Design and produce pieces to assist in fundraising and marketing

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Full-time enrollment in a Graduate Day program

  • Preference will be given to candidates with undergraduate degrees in Media/Video Arts, Video Production, Communications, and Sport Management, who are pursuing a graduate degree in a related field

  • Working knowledge of video editing software, such as iMovie and Adobe Premier

  • Knowledge of Hudl Production Truck is a plus. (Willingness to learn this program is vital!)

Compensation

The hourly pay range for this position is $12.00 - $15.00. Actual offer will be based on skills, qualifications, experience and internal equity, in addition to relevant business considerations.
