Your role on the team:
Manage, steer and develop the Project Logistics operational structure. The Senior Project Director is responsible for ensuring the operational expertise is in place to handle complex operations that project logistics covers. This entails staff development and retention, drive operational excellence throughout the team, be an integral part of project pricing and bid response and act as subject matter expert towards both transactional project moves and EPC projects. Operational excellence entails the creation of
procedures, work standards and effective project management to ensure flawless execution from inception to project close out.
* Build and maintain close relationship with key operational customers.
* Retain, Train and oversee Project/Specialised transportation pricing resource(s)
* Maintain supplier database and own key relationships / develop supplier capacity/capability
statements/create supplier performance tracking and periodic review.
* Closely assist project BD with operational input, pricing and bid support.
* Create and manage individual project specific implementation/execution strategies
* Initiate and manage projects regarding organisational development and change management
* Prepare customer MBR/QBR as/when needed
* Own and ensure on time&within budget delivery of awarded projects.
* Ensure operation and activities comply to company standards and policies in order to deliver
excellent customer service.
* Ensure operational system usage of operations
* Ensure implementation of business excellence initiatives within the function and monitor
realization.
* Identify and develop new services within the function
* Ensure world class standards of the service
* Identify specific local needs and ensure adaptation of global standards to local needs
* Ensures that all operations are performed in a safe and sustainable environment
* Develop and own supplier database, develop capacity/capability profiles for specialized services
* Own and maintain Key supplier relationships
* Initiate periodic supplier reviews
* Ensure profitability of the jobs/projects executed
What you need: (requirements)
* Needs 15-20 years of relevant experience in freight forwarding, preferably 15+ years of Project
Logistics, sales, and operation experience
* Needs preferably senior management experience in an international business environment in
logistics and sales industrial handling project business
* Team Management skills
* In depth knowledge of 3PL and supply chain management
* Proficiency in financial management.
* Strong national network, inside and outside of Geodis. International network will be an advantage
* Strong project management and risk management
