Join Our Team as a Control Systems Engineer As a Control Systems Engineer, you will lead the design and implementation of advanced control systems for cutting-edge ground station antennas. - Control System Design: Design and implement high-precision control systems for full-motion ground station antennas, ensuring reliability and optimization in satellite tracking.
- Drive Tuning: Tune motor drives, ensuring efficient and accurate control of system motors, focusing on performance enhancement.
- Motor and Drive Integration: Work with brushless DC motors, servo drives, and panel motors, implementing optimal drive tuning and motion control strategies.
- PID Control Loops: Develop and optimize PID loops for various motion control applications to enhance system performance and stability.
- CANbus Integration: Architect and implement control systems utilizing CAN bus protocols, ensuring seamless communication between components.
- Electrical Panel Design: Design electrical panels for control systems, ensuring they meet both functional and safety standards.
- Product Custodian: Serve as the custodian of products as they undergo rigorous industrial testing, ensuring they meet required specifications and standards.
- System Integration: Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and systems engineers to integrate control systems into products seamlessly.
- Simulation & Analysis: Conduct comprehensive system modeling, simulation, and analysis to predict and enhance overall system performance.
- Documentation: Generate and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, user manuals, and system diagrams.
- Quality Assurance: Uphold stringent product quality and cost standards throughout the entire design and development lifecycle.
Requirements:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Experience: 10+ years of experience in control systems for automated systems, ideally with antenna design experience.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong command of embedded C programming for control applications, and experience with CAN bus and CANopen protocols.
- Drive Tuning Expertise: Proven skills in tuning motor drives and optimizing system performance.
- Control Systems Expertise: Hands-on experience with brushless DC motors, servo drives, and advanced motion control systems.
- Analytical Skills: Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills with a creative approach to system challenges.
- Collaboration: Strong ability to work across multidisciplinary teams, integrating control systems seamlessly into larger product designs.
- Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.
- Project Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deliver results within established deadlines.
- This position requires potential access to technology controlled under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or the Export Administration Regulations (EAR). The successful candidate must be a "U.S. Person" as defined under ITAR and EAR. In order to be a U.S. Person for ITAR and EAR purposes, you must (i) be a citizen or national of the United States; or (ii) be a lawful permanent resident of the United States; or (iii) a protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).

- CANopen Protocols: Experience with CANopen and other related communication protocols.
- Industrial Testing: Experience overseeing products through industrial testing phases to ensure compliance with technical requirements.
- Motor Control Knowledge: Proficiency in the design, implementation, and testing of panel motors and control systems.
- Electrical Panel Design: Experience designing and overseeing electrical panels and associated components.
