This is a 53-week program. The Occupational therapist performs evaluation and treatment of patients upon referral to relieve pain, prevent disability, develop and improve skills and restore function. This position generally requires providing service to adolescent, adult, older adult and frail elderly age populations in a manner that demonstrates an understanding of the functional/developmental age of the individual served. The fellow participates in a minimum of 1500 hours of supervised treatment, clinical practice, specialty practice observation and classroom/lab instruction. The fellow also develops and enhances Occupational therapy services, educational programs and/or research within the practice of Occupational therapy, a department or program, or AEHN, as per the direction of the Fellowship Coordinator. Education/Training/Experience: Bachelorrsquo;s Degree, entry level Masterrsquo;s Degree or DOT degree, or Bachelorrsquo;s Degree plus certification in OT from an AOTA accredited curriculum required. At least one year of clinical experience preferred with outstanding clinical skills and/or exceptional interest in the treatment of patients with neurologic injuries demonstrated by program development, clinical education, research or patient care and as documented on the residency application. Licenses/Certifications: Pennsylvania licensure in Occupational Therapy required, NBCOT. Since this position will require the selected candidate to engage in regular contact with children in the form of care, guidance, supervision or training, you will be required to meet the requirements of the Child Protective Services Act, including the Pennsylvania State Police criminal background check, the Pennsylvania Department of Welfare child abuse criminal background clearance, and an FBI finger print based federal criminal records check. The selected candidate will not be allowed to commence working until all three (3) are completed satisfactorily. Covid Vaccination is a requirement for employment at Jefferson for employees working at Jeffersonrsquo;s clinical entities or at the University.
