Position Summary |
This incumbent is responsible for administrative and supervisory work in food service management at the Rock Eagle Dining Hall. Work involves assisting the Dining Commons Manager and Food Operations Manager in planning, organizing and directing food service personnel in the operation of the Rock Eagle Dining Facility. Work is performed under the general direction of the Food Operations Manager and is evaluated through observation and in terms of reactions of user groups. This position will work flexible hours (days, nights and weekends). |
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies |
- Considerable knowledge of institutional or commercial food service management procedures and practices.
- Knowledge of health and safety requirements applicable to a large food service operation.
- Considerable knowledge of event set-up operations, serving lines, and organizing.
- Ability to effectively supervise the work of others.
- Ability to maintain a variety of operating and general records.
- Ability to adhere to team approach when working with other departments at Rock Eagle 4-H Center.
- Ability to evaluate and analyze costs and personnel productivity.
- Serve Safe certification obtained within one year.
- Ability to develop, print out, and email schedules, checklists, and other correspondence.

- Determining shift assignments based on work priorities, personnel, or overall operations
- Continuously monitoring work areas, equipment, and safety procedures to protect employees, guests, and State resources
- Controlling and maintaining inventories
- Communicating effectively with all employees and guests
- Requisitioning or requesting supplies and equipment as needed for events both on and off-site
