Chief Construction Inspector

STV is seeking a Chief Construction Inspectorto perform construction engineering and inspection duties for Connecticut Department of Transportation (Conn DOT) projects and Federal-Local Town/City projects, in accordance with the Standard Specifications forRoads, Bridges and Incidental Construction Form818. Individual must have considerable knowledge of highway, bridge, rail and facilities construction practices and procedures as required; ability to prepare reports and recommendations concerning construction issues; demonstrated ability to deal effectively with others; ability to establish and maintain project records.

Required Skills & Required Experience:

  • To qualify, candidates must possess a BS Degree in Engineering with a minimum of 4 years of experience OR NICET IV with a minimum of 15 years of experience in civil, highway or appropriate engineering field and be self-motivated and willing to learn.
  • Candidates must have knowledge of transportation facility, highway and bridge construction materials, methods and procedures as required; ability to write daily reports; ability to perform complex quantity and engineering computations; ability to read and interpret plans and specifications; ability to deal effectively with people. Familiarity with the Conn DOT Standard Specifications forRoads, Bridges and Incidental Construction Form818, CTDOT Construction Manual, Materials Testing Manual, and knowledge of the "Site Manager" software used by Conn DOT to establish and maintain project records are a plus, but not required at time of hire. (AASHTOWare Project experience preferred, not required)
  • ACI, ATSSA & NETTCP certifications are also desired.
  • Must be able to fulfill essential job functions in a consistent state of alertness and safe manner.

Compensation Range:

$83,506.00 - $111,341.00
