This Nurse Practitioner will be responsible for:
  • Consulting and collaborating with care providers and interdisciplinary team members during daily rounds. Managing assigned patients throughout the course of the day.
  • Participating in development and implementation of patient's plan of care with patient's attending physician, consulting physicians and other members of the patient's healthcare team.
  • Obtaining relevant history and performing physical exams in the Emergency Department, during the inpatient stay, and clinic visits as indicated.
  • Ordering and interpreting labs and diagnostic tests within the guideline of practice and in collaboration with the physician.
  • Coordinating the care of multiple consults services for multi-system trauma patients.
  • Participating in ongoing research and quality improvement initiatives, as well as facilitating patient/family and multidisciplinary team education.
  • Active participation in department meetings and hospital committees.
  • Contributing to the ongoing education and professional development of nurses, physicians and other healthcare providers in the area of pediatric trauma.
  • Responding to outpatient calls from families as needed.
  • Participating in the Trauma Performance Improvement process (PIPS).
  • Working 25 hours/week day shifts. (No weekends or holidays)

To qualify, you must have:

  • A minimum of 2 years inpatient pediatric experience, surgical or critical care experience preferred.
  • 1+ year of Pediatric NP experience preferred
  • Will consider new graduate NP with recent pediatric inpatient surgical or critical care RN experience
  • Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (PNP)
  • Master's degree with current NP license

**Sign-on bonus of $3,125.00 for part-time (25 hours) NP hires (who have not worked at BCH in the past 2 years.)
