Business Development Manager - Air Moving Solutions

Position Summary:

The primary function of this role is to accelerate the growth of sales in the Power Efficiency Solutions (PES) Segment - focused on air moving end-to-end solutions, including fan filter units, plug and axial fans, controls, accessories, and services deployed in fast-growing spaces like clean rooms and data centers. Primary duties include revenue goal achievement, implementing a sales plan to drive profitable growth, and executing to the plan. The successful candidate will be energetic, persuasive and well organized and able to demonstrate the ability to sell strategically. Define and execute appropriate sales strategies, business development, marketing, technical, and sales support programs to maximize sales and profitability.

PES is one of three operating segments with approximately $1.7 Billion in revenue and produces electric motors, variable speed controls, and air moving solutions sold in data centers, semiconductors, life sciences, applied and commercial HVAC, residential HVAC, water heating, commercial refrigeration, pump, leisure water, and other general industries. Brands include Nicotra Gebhardt , Genteq, Fasco, Elco, Leeson.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for meeting/exceeding sales targets while providing detailed and accurate sales forecasts.
  • Demonstrated success pursuing large capital project with typically long sales cycles
  • Creates and maintains projects in CRM, driving opportunities from lead, to bid, to close, and from order to cash.
  • Develops and implements strategic sales plan and institutes effective standard work for project-based sales processes based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive specification and end-user demand for PES air moving end-to-end solutions, including fan filter units, plug and axial fans, controls, accessories, and services.
  • Monitors customer and market trends and clearly communicates risks and opportunities to leadership team.
  • Leads quarterly business and monthly performance reviews
  • Negotiates customer contracts and programs as required.
  • Establish effective relationships with key influencers related to projects utilizing air moving solutions as part of the project scope.
  • Gather detailed information about project opportunities, identify key decision-makers, understand strategic business challenges and priorities, and lead team in successful project and opportunity wins.
  • Drives commercial and product strategies to outpace market growth of defined segments.
  • Ensures high post-sales satisfaction, facilitating positive long-term relationships and high potential for repeat business with accounts.
  • Cultivates business and market development growth opportunities by promoting value propositions to meet customer needs.
  • Contributes to a culture of success and ongoing business and goal achievement.
  • Demonstrates technical product training and effectively communicates features, benefits and advantages over the competition.

Basic Qualifications:

  • BS in Business, Marketing, or a related field or 10+ years or relevant experience
  • 5+ years commercial experience in the FFU and/or Data center space
  • Strong presentation communication skills
  • Strong/passionate customer focus
  • Sales experience focusing on distributors, contractors, consultants, and end-users
  • Strong analytical, problem solving, negotiation, and relationship management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong computer skills - experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint Outlook & Teams)
  • Ability to work independently and remotely

Desired Qualifications:

  • Experience working with 80/20, and Power BI
  • High level of personal initiative, energy, and ownership of business results

Location: Remote - Major US Market - Territory is US & Canada

Travel: 50% to 60%
