Position Summary
WE ARE ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR THIS POSITION FROM ALL STUDENTS REGARDLESS OF WORK STUDY AWARD. Position Summary: Under limited supervision, provides front desk program support for an evening program (CCAMPIS) which contracts for childcare services supporting student parents of the University of New Mexico. This individual will assign duties and tasks to other student classroom assistants to include direct care of children enrolled, basic front office duties, and other related duties, as needed. Provides information and advice based on in-depth knowledge and requires substantial responsibility and judgment. May train and direct other student employees.
Duties and responsibilities include:
-Performs a wide variety of assignments which are sometimes confidential in nature; operates personal computer to enter data, draft, edit, revise, and print letters, tables, reports, and other materials.
-Greets and directs families and visitors; resolves routine administrative problems and answers inquiries concerning activities and operations of department/division; accepts, screens, routes, and makes telephone calls.
-Performs a range of operational support activities for administrative staff, classroom staff and dietary staff.
-Drafts or prepares correspondences to routine inquiries; prepares photocopies and facsimiles, and operates a variety of office equipment.
-Establishes, maintains, processes, and updates files, records, certificates, and/or other documents.
-Performs basic, routine bookkeeping functions, which may involve simple billing and cash receipt activities.
-May instruct and oversee the activities of student employees performing the same type of work.
-Must be able to maintain positive working relationships with permanent and student employees.
-Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Enrolled in a degree seeking program at UNM, Enrolled at least half-time (6 hours) at UNM for fall and spring semesters (Audit hours do not count), and if Work Study, you must meet Satisfactory Academic Progress.
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Qualifications: -Experience working in an Early Childhood Care setting.
-Experience working with the Child Care Access Means Parents In School (CCAMPIS) Program.
-CPR/First Aid Certification
-Knowledge of the Pre-Kindergarten Initiative.
-Experience supervising other student staff.
