The School of Planning in the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning (DAAP) at the University of Cincinnati is seeking an Assistant Professor - Educator to teach courses in its Bachelor of Science in Horticulture program. The School of Planning within the College of Design, Architecture, Art, and Planning prepares professionals for distinguished practice and spatially based approaches with a focus on livable places and the creation of communities that enrich people's lives. The six academic programs within the SOP (Bachelor of Science in Horticulture, Bachelor of Science in Urban Studies, Bachelor of Urban Planning, Master of Community Planning, Master of Landscape Architecture and PhD in Regional Development Planning) offer specific coursework about the planning and design of innovative futures for urban communities and regions. The SOP comprises three undergraduate and three graduate degree programs whose faculty members seek to inspire and educate students through a commitment to working with diverse populations and utilizing contemporary pedagogy. The faculty are expected to work effectively and collegially in an interdisciplinary university setting. The SOP is committed to a diverse workforce and to maintaining a learning and working environment welcoming to all, including those underrepresented in Horticulture. About the Horticulture Program
The Horticulture Program at the University of Cincinnati offers a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture degree, as well as a Horticulture minor and certificates in Green Roofs, Urban Agriculture, Urban Landscapes, Sustainable Landscape Design, and Cannabis Studies. UC Horticulture is rooted in sustainable horticulture approaches emphasizing the role of vegetation in the urban environment. The BS horticulture curriculum consists of over 60 credit hours in horticulture required and/or elective courses. The curriculum is focused on four main areas, horticulture science, horticulture design, horticultural plant materials, and green infrastructure.
