As the GSC Lean/Continuous Improvement Manager III, you will drive business performance by using, promoting, and executing Lean Operational Excellence tools, processes, and concepts across. Utilizes Lean to determine what, why and measure how well its executing, and drive a continuous cycle of change and improvement. Uses Lean as a way of thinking, a set of principles, and a collection of methods and tools that shape who we are and what we do. Develop internal capabilities to see (opportunity) and redefine what does good look like with respect to speed, impact, (local) implementation and scalable deployment (of solutions). Establish and deliver key initiatives that support the organization's top priorities (Organic Growth, Operating Margin, Working Capital) and important metrics improvement, strategic project execution, and/or capability building. Rely heavily on Lean principles and tools to drive process improvements leading to performance improvement. Drive continuous improvement in quality, reliability, delivery, competitiveness through targeted and sustainable, data-driven initiatives. Act as a key business partner to the leaders of the Plants and DCs to lead, enable, and implement, a roadmap of strategic priorities and critical metric improvements. Contribute to a strong culture of engagement with Lean OpEx and continuous improvement that support organizational goals. Ensures a passion about creating an established system for achieving success and guiding every aspect of organization culture and performance.

This position is onsite located in Irvine, California.

How You'll Make An Impact:




  • Lean Leader acts as a subject matter expert in Lean and project management methodologies.
  • Coach, and/or lead Kaizen events and develop on-site associates in Fundamentals and Lean tools such as Standard Work, Visual and Daily Management, Problem Solving Process, Transactional Process Improvement, Value Stream Mapping, 5S, Jidoka to drive organizational change and performance.
  • Identify key improvement thinking, approaches and capabilities critical to improving operational (productivity, lead time, quality, scrap, uptime, etc) and financial performance (cost, cash, revenue, manufacturing expense, operating margin) across our business.
  • Partner with and provide leadership to VPs and other senior leaders in determining Bio-Rad priorities and capability gaps to deliver on business objectives.


What You Bring:



  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in relevant technology.
  • 4+ years related experience.
  • Strong analytical skills including data collection and synthesis.
  • Competent in a variety of methods (root cause analysis, value stream mapping & process flow tools, voice of customer tools, FEMA & risk assessment tools, data collection, statistical techniques, cost breakdowns and opportunity analysis, etc.).
  • Business and financial knowledge.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software.
  • Able to deal with high level of uncertainty.
  • Strong organizational skill, tact and diplomacy.
  • Able to facilitate and resolve problems.
  • Acts with integrity and good judgment with transparency.
  • Green/Black Belt Training or equivalent in Lean or Six Sigma from recognized organization.
  • Experienced Lean practitioner and developing Lean Leader.
  • Able to solve issues of moderate to complex problem solving where analysis of data, processes and opportunities require collaborative brainstorming on a variety of factors.
  • Has a strong understanding of Lean and Six Sigma toolsets with applied experience.
  • Understands project management principles and concepts.
  • Developing skills as a project leader for small Lean projects.

Compensation: The estimated base salary range for this position is $130,200 - $195,400 at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be provided in writing at the time of offer, if applicable, and is based on several factors we believe fairly and accurately impact compensation, including geographic location, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other job permitted factors. This position is also eligible for a variable annual bonus, which is dependent upon achievement of your individual objectives and Company performance.
