Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward-thinking Estimation Manager to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the estimation team (colleagues) and process for security integration projects. This includes leading a team and developing accurate and competitive cost estimates for complex security system installations, managing the bid process, and collaborating with various departments to ensure the highest standards of quality and accuracy. You will play a critical role in shaping project proposals, identifying potential risks, and contributing to project profitability by ensuring estimates are comprehensive and aligned with client expectations.

  • Lead a team inclusive of hiring, training, developing and on boarding and meeting business goals and objectives.
  • Lead the estimation process for all assigned security integration projects, including reviewing drawings, specifications, and customer requirements to develop accurate and comprehensive cost estimates.
  • Work closely with the sales, engineering, and project management teams to ensure estimates are aligned with project scope and client expectations.
  • Prepare bid packages, pricing sheets, and related documentation for submission to clients.
  • Analyze labor, material, and subcontractor costs to develop competitive pricing strategies.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive pricing for materials and services.
  • Provide technical assistance and consultation to the sales team during the proposal and bidding process.
  • Manage multiple estimation projects concurrently, ensuring deadlines are met and estimates are complete and accurate.
  • Participate in project handover meetings to ensure that the project management and execution teams fully understand the scope of work and cost parameters.
  • Continuously improve estimation processes, tools, and techniques to enhance accuracy and efficiency.



What You'll Need



  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimation, preferably within the security integration, electronic systems, or low-voltage industries.
  • Strong understanding of security systems, including access control, video surveillance, and intrusion detection.
  • Experience reading and interpreting construction drawings, specifications, and technical documents.
  • Proficiency in estimation software and tools, as well as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Project).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across departments to deliver accurate estimates.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities, with a focus on meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field is preferred.

Requirements:



  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Construction Management, Electronics, or a related field.
  • A combination of education and relevant experience may also be considered.
  • Experience in estimation, preferably within the security integration or low-voltage systems industries (e.g., electronic security systems, fire alarm systems, access control).
  • Experience working with cost estimation software and tools like Bluebeam, Accubid, or AutoCAD.
  • Proven track record of managing complex, multi-faceted project estimates.
  • Experience in collaborating with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams.
  • Strong analytical abilities to determine labor and material costs and assess risks.
  • Knowledge of cost control techniques and financial reporting.
  • Ability to develop competitive pricing strategies while ensuring profitability.
  • Certified Professional Estimator (CPE) by the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
