Operates diagnostic imaging equipment to produce contrast enhanced radiographs of heart and cardiovascular system (angiograms), during cardiac catheterization, to aid Physician in diagnostic evaluation and treatment by performing the following duties. Responsibilities
- Prepares equipment and patients for procedures utilizing sterile technique.
- Assists Cardiologist during diagnostic cardiac catheterizations according to established standards and procedures.
- Post procedurally established hemostasis of arterial/venous puncture sites.
- Maintains procedural event log.
- Participates in patient/family education.
- Participates in Quality Assessment and improvement.
- May be required to work flexible hours and overtime during peak periods.
- Participates in on-call roster.
- Performs other duties as assigned by Cath Lab Coordinator or Heart Program Director

Education and Experience Graduate of an AMA accredited Radiologic Technology program or equivalent OR Graduate of a Cardiac Intervention Program One year experience working in Cardiac Cath Lab preferred Certification and Licensure Graduate of AMA school: AART registered or registry eligible and Wisconsin State Radiology Technologist License Graduate of a Cardiac Intervention Program: Cardiovascular Technologist registered or registry eligible BLS Certification ACLS Certification (preferred) Skills and Abilities Strong analytical/interpretive skills Strong interpersonal/communication skills Strong attention to detail
Special Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Must be able to wear 15-pound lead apron. Level of Supervision N/A Supervises This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
