Job Description

As a key member of Data Platform team, you will be integral in envisioning, implementing, and evangelizing new features, pipelines, and platforms that not only delivery data, but insight. You will be at the forefront of assessing the most impactful data needs throughout the business and leading the charge in identifying automated solutions that help bring data to life. You have experience building and maintaining various data engineering frameworks. Beyond your strong technical skills, you are a collaborator who is a passionate advocate for empowering and enlightening others with the power of data to help turn information into knowledge and actionable insights.

A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Execute FOX Data platform engineering roadmap aligning with product, engineering, platform, data science teams
  • Manage and elevate team members with the ability to get the best out of them and build strong engagement and grow their careers

  • Build partnerships with cross-functional teams to have better collaboration with engineering, product, data science and scrum masters.

  • Identify the data needed for FOX business problem and implement data observability, ensure quality, ETL completeness & availability of data, with proactive altering solutions

  • Build the data products, features, tools, and frameworks that enable and empowering data engineering, analytics teams across FOX with our data

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

  • A BS in Computer Science or equivalent experience with professional experience in data platform team or in a similar role

  • Expert knowledge of AWS Analytical Tech stack and services like Glue, Athena, Lake formation

  • Excellent knowledge and expertise with SQL, T-SQL, PostgreSQL and Relational & Multi-dimensional Databases

  • Strong understanding of AWS security services including KMS, parameter Stores and secret Managers

  • Strong experience with Realtime Frameworks, collection, and processing Realtime data using kinesis Data Streams, KDA and Firehoses

  • Strong understanding of Kinesis/Glue frameworks and Spark Streaming for building Realtime analytics

  • Extensive experience on Python, or similar scripting language to build engineering frameworks

  • Experience in CICD framework, Preferably GitHub and GitHub Actions for version controlling or Orchestrating

  • Expert knowledge on infrastructure as code services including terraform, CloudFormation or CDK.

  • Expert knowledge on Blue/Green Deployment for Lambda and Microservices.

  • Expert Knowledge on Elastic Containers and Elastic Container Services

  • Strong experience with distributed data architectures and big data processing technologies (Spark, EMR, Hadoop, Hive) Discerning appreciation of best practices in designing data lakes/lake houses, mentoring junior members, peer review and recommendation

  • Proven ability to deliver high quality, production ready code

  • Expert understanding of the agile software development life cycle

NICE TO HAVE, BUT NOT A DEALBREAKER

  • Experience with Snowflake, Google BigQuery is a big plus

  • Experience with Delta Lake technologies, Data Mesh Architecture is a plus

  • Certifications in Amazon Web Services is a Huge Plus

Pursuant to state and local pay disclosure requirements, the pay range for this role, with final offer amount dependent on education, skills, experience, and location is: $121,500.00-170,000.00 annually for California. This role is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, various benefits, including medical/dental/vision, insurance, a 401(k) plan, paid time off, and other benefits in accordance with applicable plan documents. Benefits for Union represented employees will be in accordance with the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
