A Brief Overview:
The Insurance Verification Representative II is responsible for the critical task of verifying patient insurance coverage and benefits. This position ensures that accurate and up-to-date insurance information is obtained to support billing and claims processes. The Insurance Verification Representative II must have a strong understanding of insurance processes and be able to communicate effectively with patients, healthcare providers, and insurance companies.

What you will do:

  • Verify insurance coverage and benefits for patients scheduled for services or admissions.
  • Contact insurance companies to obtain up-to-date information on policy details and eligibility.
  • Accurately document insurance information in the hospital's database.
  • Maintain organized and detailed records of verification activities.
  • Communicate insurance information to patients, healthcare providers, and other hospital staff.
  • Collaborate with the authorization department to ensure necessary approvals are obtained from insurance providers.
  • Assist in resolving any authorization issues or discrepancies.
  • Monitor and follow up on pending insurance verifications.
  • Address any issues or delays in obtaining insurance information.
  • Ensure that all insurance verification activities comply with relevant regulations and guidelines.
  • Stay informed about changes in insurance policies and requirements.
  • Work closely with the billing and coding teams to support accurate claims processing.


What you will need:

  • Bachelors Degree Preferred
  • 2 Years of experience in healthcare insurance verification.
