POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director of Communications & Marketing Operations, the Marketing Specialist is responsible for promoting WestCare's efforts, maintaining branding, and crafting messaging to improve community awareness and consumer acquisition in WestCare Nevada and Oregon. They will support the growth/expansion of both states' programs and services in the domains of mental health, treatment & rehabilitation, criminal justice, Veterans services, housing opportunities, and education and prevention. They will assist with social media, creative projects, and events with guidance from the Director of Communications & Marketing Operations. They will also help design, create, and manage various marketing needs including promotional items, printed collaterals, and multimedia projects involving videos and/or photos, as well as online and direct mail pieces.

Other duties include assisting with the coordination of media coverage, public relations, and public affairs projects related to our agency's mission, vision, and values as well as other duties that may be assigned as needed. Through their efforts, they will aid us in delivering effective marketing projects that will help WestCare's reputation and growth throughout Nevada and Oregon.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Ability to transform marketing and promotional concepts into results.
  • Assist with creating, maintaining/updating corporate collateral materials including PowerPoint templates, program literature, signage, maps, and event fixtures such as outreach booths.
  • Assist with designing, creating, and managing to completion several marketing production related efforts such as promotional items, digital and printed collaterals, multimedia collaterals including videos, online, and direct-mail pieces.
  • Execute the delivery of email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and correspondence.
  • Assist with retrieving, archiving, drafting, and editing content for The Nevada Loop and WestCare Express newsletters.
  • Assist with creating and distributing both online and print fundraising and event materials such as invitations, posters, and branded awards.


  • Ensure that all creative marketing materials undergo brand review and adhere to strict brand guidelines and are approved through all necessary levels of leadership.
  • Participate and contribute to marketing activities to help achieve company goals.
  • Plan and participate in internal and external outreach events.
  • Represent the agency in a positive light and educate potential clients about our services.
  • Participate in staff meetings and trainings.
  • Assist with the filming and production of short videos for use on social media encouraging employee engagement/recognition and community awareness of our services.
  • Assist in maintaining organization social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, YouTube, Vimeo, X/Twitter, Instagram, etc.) to achieve advertising and marketing goals for WestCare Nevada and WestCare Oregon.
  • May coordinate involvement in conferences, exhibitions, and marketing seminars.
  • Work with leadership, supervisor, and team to build a team-oriented environment that promotes dependability and fairness and rewards collaboration, information sharing, tolerance, and open-mindedness.
  • Must embrace and embody the mission, vision, guiding principles, clinical vision, and goals of WestCare Foundation.


Position may involve other relevant duties as assigned.

Qualifications

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Maintain continuous lines of communication with our Marketing team and keep the Director of Communications and Marketing Operations fully informed of all critical issues.
  • Perform occasional administrative office duties (Team event planning, PR efforts, printing, supply ordering, etc.)
  • Occasionally appear in WestCare-produced educational and promotional videos.
  • Ability to learn new graphics and marketing software/online programs.



EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:



  • Bachelors or Associate degree in Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related experience.
  • Highschool Diploma or GED required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is preferred but not required.



WORKING CONDITIONS:



  • Work is primarily performed in an office setting.
  • Some travel is required and some outdoor activities may be required.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.



PHYSICAL DEMANDS:



  • Occasional lifting of more than 10 pounds.
  • Sitting, standing, walking, reaching are performed in the normal course of the position.
  • The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, BUT exposure or potential exposure may be required as a condition of employment. Appropriate personal protective equipment will be readily available to every employee engaged in Category II tasks
