The Role:

Our Company is seeking a Production Planner/Scheduler to join our San Luis Obispo, CA team. The Production Planner/Scheduler has the ability to implement standard procedures and takes initiative to propose modifications to increase efficiency. Gathers information independently using established procedures and uses this information to make informed Planning decisions involving cross-functional groups and managers as needed. Trains new personnel based on established processes and procedures.

What You'll Do:

  • Execute Entegris planning procedures to plan, firm, and release work orders.
  • Prioritize cascading workload for Planners I and II, based upon incoming customer demands.
  • Assist in clearing the WIP aging report to optimize inventory movements.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and Engineering to resolve supply gaps.
  • Monitor department metrics and guide team activities to ensure goals are met.
  • Review and approve Engineering Change Revision (ECR) / Engineering Change Notification (ECN) for Bill of Material (BOM) deviations and communicate changes to colleagues.
  • Review work completed by Level I & II Planners to minimize project risks.
  • Work with Planners IV, Warehouse Manager and procurement, to update and maintain Kanban/safety stock inventory levels based upon supply/demand analysis.
  • Analyze and approve work order variance and close work orders after product completion.
  • Escalate work order COGs discrepancies to Planner IV or Management for approval.
  • Identify and implement overall business process improvement.
  • Escalate problems after proper due diligence to Planner IV or Management.
  • Enforce and follow all Entegris planning policies and procedures.
  • Supervise guidelines and accommodate Managerial changes in work priorities.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

What We Seek:

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations, Data Analytics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum 8-10 years' experience in factory planning.
  • Strong SAP or other equivalent ERP (Oracle, PeopleSoft) system experience; PP (Production Planning) and MM (Material Management) modules.
  • Proficient Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Systems e.g. Lean Inventory management, Kanban/JIT systems, and Value Stream Mapping.
  • Advanced Excel skills; modeling, pivot tables, x-lookup, macros.
  • Familiar with Manufacturing Planning Controls (MPC) techniques.
  • Able to identify, influence and drive process improvement through collaboration.
  • Familiar with work order capacity routing assessments.
