The Department of Health & Human Performance at Utah Tech University in St. George, Utah, invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty position in Population Health to start Fall Semester or August 2025. Our preferred candidate for this position would also serve as the program director of Population Health (but it is not required) and will have responsibility for its emphases in Public Health, Healthcare Administration, and Long-Term Care Administration. The successful candidate will teach courses in Healthcare Administration or Long-Term Care Administration, with release time granted for program director duties. Our Population Health students are going into the world to improve the quality of patient care and community health through social policy, health promotion, disease prevention, and healthcare administration. Responsibilities
-
- Teach 24 credits per academic year, usually a 4-4 schedule, both in-person and online.
- Develop and deliver courses and student experiences reflective of the University's theme "active learning. active life."
- Work with the department chair and/or dean to ensure program viability and innovation.
- Secure and/or maintain professional accreditation for the Healthcare Administration, Long-Term Care Administration, and Public Health tracks within the program (AUPHA, CEPH, and NAB).
- Hold regular office hours, attend regular department meetings, vote on department issues, and advise on student assessment as needed.
- Serve on university, college, and department committees and engage in community, university, departmental, and discipline service activities.
- Engage in scholarly and creative activities resulting in the sharing of knowledge through teaching, presentations, publications, and other appropriate outlets.
- Develop and maintain supporting relationships with community, state, national, and international organizations.
- Develop and maintain supporting relationships with internship and residency sites and preceptors.
- Advise and prepare students for credentialing licensure exams.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
-
- Earned doctorate in Population Health-related discipline, with preference given for background and expertise in Health Care Administration or Long-Term Care Administration.
- Evidence of, or potential for, excellence in teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels (finalists will be required to demonstrate competence via a teaching demonstration).
- Evidence of work-related experience in the healthcare industry is strongly preferred.
- Ability to employ various communication and teaching technologies, especially in online teaching.
- Ability to communicate clearly with students, staff and colleagues, both orally and in writing.
- An eagerness to engage with faculty, staff and administrators to develop ways to improve the educational experience of students.
- Ability to develop collaborative relationships across disciplines and with external health organizations.
- Evidence of scholarship in the form of refereed publications, paper presentations, published abstracts, etc.

POSITION DETAILS, COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS: Full-time (9-month) tenure-track faculty position. Faculty service begins August 2025, with pay and benefits starting July 1, 2025. Annual salary of $63,000+ depending on qualifications and experience, with additional compensation available for optional summer/overload teaching.
